RI IXpress Helps the Kids' Café

In November 2007, as part of our new Bag for Bag program, the U12 and U14 players for the RI IXpress girls hockey program collected 400lbs of food on behalf of the
RI Community Food Bank's Kids' Café program. Each of the players was to receive a new hockey bag for this season, and in the spirit of giving and getting, we looked for an opportunity for them to give something to the community.
"In this program, we help the players learn that in hockey, as in life, you get what you give," said Aronda Kirby and Coach Digit Murphy, co-founders of the RI IXpress. "The girls
went above and beyond donating this much food and really showed what a good community service spirit a team can have!" |
